Coiled Weaving Basketry workshop
Discover the ancient basketry technique of coil weaving in this therapeutic workshop and learn the
skills to create beautiful baskets for yourself, your family and friends.
This is a hands-on workshop where you will use natural plant materials and yarn to create your
own small basket or the beginnings of a larger piece. Judith is an experienced tutor who will guide
you step-by-step through the weaving process as you learn the techniques to create a woven
basket.
The workshop is suitable for beginners from 12yrs of age and adults.
All materials will be provided.
About your tutorJudith Macrae is a visual artist and arts educator, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from the
National Art School. She works across a range of disciplines: textiles, basketry, drawing and digital
art. Her work is expressive, emotional and playful and is informed by a love of the natural world,
colour and texture.
