Learn the alchemy and magic of this plant pigment called 'Indigo'. With an ancient lineage across the globe, and more than just a colour, we will navigate through the history of indigo, delve into the process of achieving different shades of blue in a fructose indigo vat, and creatively design with resist techniques on different fabrics and project pieces. You will learn how to create and maintain the fructose indigo vat and learn several resist techniques of binding, tying, clamping, and stitching. Participants will leave with a solid base of knowledge to continue practicing indigo dyeing outside of the workshop. —-

About your Instructor:
Victoria Larnach is a designer and natural plant dyer for textiles and sustainable fashion. Her work focuses on circular systems within the fashion industry and our relationship to the natural resources that supply them. Each design she creates reflects her connection to nature through plant colour using responsibly sourced dyes and materials. In her workshops, Victoria shares her love of botanical colours and their applications to fibre, while encouraging preservation and sustainable practices of the environment.
