Beginner Weaving - Flower Looms
Weaving is a wonderful form of meditative fibre art. It combines repetitive motions with tactile goodness, and is wonderfully portable.
In this workshop Kelly Mason @spindleandcompany will be teaching you the very basics of weaving and you'll get to weave your very own wall flower.
You'll be taught how to warp your flower shaped loom, then introduced to the basic stitches used in frame weaving.
During the workshop you will learn:
- How woven fabrics are constructed. ie the basics of warp and weft
- How to warp a circular shape loom
- How to weave in a circular pattern
- Where/How to use different kinds of yarns within a woven piece
The workshop will take about one hour, and you will have a beautifully unique woven flower to take home with you. No experience needed at all, this truly is a wonderful workshop for beginners and die hards alike.
What you get:
One hand painted, Australian made and designed shape loom from Kate @valley_maker
One bundle of botanically hand dyed yarn from Kate @valley_maker
