Basketry Coiling Workshop using Fabric Scraps with Trudi Nisbet

Create gorgeous coiled baskets using fabric remnants. A perfect way to use up the fabric stash or upcycle those favourite wardrobe pieces that are no longer worn.

Trudi will guide you through each step in a relaxed and friendly environment so that each person will take home their own unique and gorgeous basket.

You are encouraged to bring along your own  fabric remnants or favourite pieces of retired clothing ( that were otherwise destined for landfill) , however Trudi will have fabric available too.

Please bring suitable scissors for fabric and wear closed in shoes.

Basketry has always been popular for its visual aesthetics  and its practical uses. But for many, basketry weaving is all about the process - a chance to slow down , enjoy and appreciate the moment in time and find meaningful purpose.
Students will also be rewarded with the delight that results when connecting with like-minded people.
These fundamentals will set you on the path for a wonderful basketry journey.
Suitable for the beginner.
All materials are included.

*Please bring your own lunch or you can slip to a nearby local cafe during the break.

The workshop may be run outside so you can enjoy our beautiful outdoor space. If it is too hot, windy or wet, we will be indoors in air conditioning.
